There are two main engine options with the Grand Cherokee L. First up is a 3.6L V6 making a healthy 295 horsepower with 260lb-ft of torque, passed to all-wheel drive through a silky eight-speed automatic transmission. This configuration is ideal for everyday driving, combining solid handling and acceleration with a useful towing capacity of 2,812kg,
However, stepping up to the 5.2L V8 pushes the horsepower up to a mammoth 360 hp, taking the SUV into a different league. The extra output makes both standing starts and highway passing effortless, while the maximum towing capacity of 3,266kg rivals many pickups.
Genuine Off-Road Ability
It wouldn't be a Jeep if it wasn't ready to hit the trail. The Grand Cherokee L is available with the impressive Selec-Terrain system which optimizes the transmission and traction control for a wide variety of difficult off-road conditions, with modes for Rock, Snow, Sport, Mud / Sand, and Auto.
Improved Comfort
But the off-road chops don't come at the expense of in-cabin comfort. The Grand Cherokee L's spacious interior can be equipped with quilted leather seats, front and second row heating, and even a luxurious massage function for the driver and front passenger.
Advanced Infotainment
The L's infotainment system is accessed through an 8.4" touchscreen display, and features smartphone integration as standard through both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, every model in the range boasts a 10.25" digital instrument cluster nestled behind the steering wheel for clear, bright display of essential driving information.
Choose the higher trims and you'll also enjoy in-built navigation, complete with real-time traffic and weather updates, plus wireless charging and a Wi-Fi hotspot facility. And if even that's not enough connectivity options, there's a generous 12 USB ports placed throughout the cabin, more than enough to keep every passenger happily hooked up.
Safety and Driver Assist Systems
With the release of a new model, Jeep have taken the opportunity to upgrade the range of active safety and driver assist options on offer. Standard and available highlights include:
